Golf
Laggan Bay, Islay is a majestic location, but real golfers are more interested in the golf course than anything else. This golf course will test all aspects of your game. Although the yardage is not long by modern standards, holes vary in length according to the strength and direction of the wind. You will need to avoid the rough, which can be penal in the summer. Good iron players will be rewarded by magnificent and consistent lies. And the greens will test your chipping and long putting ability. There is a reason why the Scots invented golf on links land, Machrie land.

Golf was probably free on these links before Willie Campbell came along in 1891. Now it isn't free, just great value.
